Friday May 17th – 5:30 to 8:00pm
THE ABERNETHY SCHOOL CARNIVAL is a fun filled community event held at the school every year in May. There are obstacle style inflatables, carnival games, face paint and balloon artists, and a cake walk. Food vendors are also on site to feed you dinner, spin some cotton candy and shave some ice.
Tickets are necessary to participate in the games and activities and can also be used for food. Third party vendors also accept cash and credit.
$25 buys a 100-ticket bundle. $13 buys a 50-ticket bundle. $5 buys a 20-ticket bundle.
You can buy tickets in the gazebo before and after school the week before Carnival. Or buy them online at www.supportabernethy.org and bring your receipt to the gazebo to claim your tickets before the event or to the ticket table (outside main office) the night of the event. Online pre-sales will end the Thursday night before the festivities. Cash, check and cards are all accepted.
Bracelets for unlimited games and activities will be available for $30. Unlimited bracelets will keep your kids busy all night long – and help out parents who might be concerned about kids overdoing it with the sweet treats. Bracelets are NOT valid with third party vendors (Hot Lips Pizza, Hot Dogs, Shaved Ice,
Pepe Caliente and Churros Locos). Purchase of food from third party vendors can be made with cash or credit – or, alternately, you can purchase a smaller bundle of tickets to use for food. Bracelets will, however, entitle the holder to one of each: cotton candy, popcorn, frozen novelty.
We need a LOT of store-bought cakes for the very popular cake-a-palooza. Please consider donating something from your local bakery. Contact Rachel Haas with questions – firstname.lastname@example.org
Rules for cakes: winners have the option of taking the cake right away or leaving the cake in the auditorium to be picked up later. Plastic forks and bags will be provided for those who want them. Cakes can be eaten during the carnival but cannot be destroyed, smeared, or thrown at any time, anywhere on school grounds. This has been a growing problem in recent years. The cake food fights have created a mess where the food fight happens and in the bathrooms as kids attempt to clean up. Kids who do not follow the rules for cakes may have the cakes taken away and may be required to turn in any remaining tickets and leave the carnival.
VOLUNTEERS: We need LOTS of help from our awesome community to make this event happen. Sign up now, don’t wait: www.signup.com/go/BmhWrPG. Contact Elizah Owens with questions – email@example.com
Thanks and see you under the Big Top!!
